I also announce to the Seanad that, following the election to Dáil Éireann of Ciaran Cannon, the Taoiseach nominated Darragh O'Brien, with his consent, to fill the casual vacancy thus created in the number of nominated Members of Seanad Éireann. On my behalf and on behalf of the House, I welcome him to the Seanad and congratulate him on his appointment.
