Vol. 242 No. 11

Proceeds of Sale of State's Shareholding in Aer Lingus: Motion

I move:

That Seanad Éireann approves the payment by the Minister for Finance, pursuant to section 46(1) of the National Treasury Management Agency (Amendment) Act 2014, from the Central Fund to the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund of €335,272,562.50 (three-hundred and thirty-five million, two-hundred and seventy-two thousand, five-hundred and sixty-two euro and fifty cent) being the amount of the funds derived from the proceeds of the sale of the State's shareholding in Aer Lingus.

Question put and agreed to.

I did not hear a word.

I ask the Senator to check the record.

It is the responsibility of the Leas-Chathaoirleach to maintain order and silence in the House.

No. Senators have a responsibility to keep silent.

It is the responsibility of the Leas-Chathaoirleach to maintain silence. I want a process to have this registered. It is an absolute disgrace. It is as though Ministers are afraid to face this House after cheating Aer Lingus workers out of their pensions.
