Vol. 248 No. 2

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to state when he intends to transfer the control and operation of Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to have an administrative deputy principal appointed to St. Paul’s School, Cork, in view of the number of pupils with severe learning disabilities for whom the school caters.

I have also received notice from Senator Maura Hopkins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for mental health issues to state when the external review of mental health services in County Roscommon will be completed and made available.

I have also received notice from Senator Ivana Bacik of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality, in light of recent media reports that an act of female genital mutilation, FGM, has been reported to the Health Service Executive and the Garda, to state how many cases of FGM have been reported to the force since the implementation of the Criminal Justice (Female Genital Mutilation) Act 2012, what supports are provided to agencies such as AkiDwA which are working to prevent the incidence of FGM in the community, and if the Government will sign up to the second national action plan on FGM.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion and they will be taken now.
