I have received notice from Senator Billy Lawless that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to request RTE to extend its longwave 252 service beyond 2017.

I have also received notice from Senators Catherine Noone and Gabrielle McFadden of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to examine the high cost of car parking in many public hospitals, especially for long-term illness patients, and if he will consider providing car parking guidelines for hospitals nationwide, with the objective of reducing the cost for long-term illness patients and their families.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to ensure the replacement 90 bedroom units at St. John's Hospital in Limerick are expedited alongside the 96 acute bedroom units at University Hospital Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Joan Freeman of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for mental health services and older people to discuss whether there is a necessity for more transparency in the allocation of the mental health budget and whether she will agree to disclose where resources have been allocated since October 2016.

I have also received notice from Senator Maura Hopkins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to provide an update on the N5-Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge project and if the necessary capital funding has been allocated for the project.

I have also received notice from Senator Neale Richmond of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to detail how many projects in Ireland applied for funding through the Erasmus+ programme, how many applications were successful and to ask the European Commission to review the application and reporting process for the Erasmus+ programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment to indicate when fibre power broadband will be connected and fully functional in the Kilkee area of County Clare.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Billy Lawless; Catherine Noone and Gabrielle McFadden, Maria Byrne and Joan Freeman and they will be taken now. Senators Maura Hopkins, Neale Richmond and Martin Conway may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
