Vol. 256 No. 10

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government to make a statement on the Government's plans for directly elected executive mayors for the greater Dublin area and commuter belt, including Kildare, Wicklow and Meath, and for the greater Cork city and county area.

I have also received notice from Senator Máire Devine of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to make a statement on the reduction in Garda numbers in Dublin South-Central since 2010.

I have also received notice from Senator Fintan Warfield of the following matter:

The need the Minister for Health to address the waiting lists for hormone replacement therapy at St. Colmcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown, County Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to outline the process to identify a suitable site for the new hospital in Cork as proposed in the national development plan.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and they will be taken now.

I wish to advise the House that the Minister is unavoidably delayed. My apologies to the Members present. Therefore, I propose we suspend until 10.45 a.m.

Is that agreed? Agreed.

Sitting suspended at 10.39 a.m. and resumed at 10.45 a.m.
