Vol. 262 No. 1

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Neale Richmond that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation to review the stamp 3 visa process to speed up work authorisations for family members of permit holders.

I have also received notice from Senator Kieran O’Donnell of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to consider the setting up of a Brexit strategic route development fund in order to establish a European hub at Shannon Airport.

I have also received notice from Senator Gerard P. Craughwell of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Defence to outline his plans to engage with PDFORRA and RACO, with a view to implementing the European working time directive for members of the Defence Forces, and to address the level of expenditure incurred to date in defending litigation related to the directive as it pertains to the Defence Forces.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and will be taken now. Senator Gerard P. Craughwell has withdrawn his Commencement matter which I had selected for discussion.
