Business of Select Committee

Apologies have been received from Senators Flynn, Garvey and O'Reilly. I welcome everyone to today's meeting of the Seanad Special Committee on the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. We have received correspondence from the Revenue Commissioners with an update on the levy of import duties, arising from our meeting on ports on 7 July 2021. We received correspondence, dated 12 July 2021, from Mr. Paul Green at the British embassy with comments on the interim report of the committee and racial profiling. There is also correspondence, dated 19 July 2021, from Professor Mary Gilmartin of Maynooth University on new phases of co-operation in post-Brexit policing on the island of Ireland. There is other correspondence from Mr. Paul Green at the British embassy, dated 21 July 2021, on the command paper of Lord Frost and the Secretary of State Brandon Lewis on the Northern Ireland protocol. There is also correspondence from the office of the EU Vice-President accepting an invitation to meet the committee on Monday, 15 November 2021. There is correspondence, dated 28 September 2021, from the Department of the Taoiseach with confirmation of non-attendance in reply to an invitation to a meeting on 5 October 2021. Is it agreed to note the correspondence? Agreed.

Are the minutes of the public meetings of 14 and 15 June 2021 and the private meetings of 23 and 30 June 2021, 2 and 5 July 2021 and 22 September 2021 agreed? Agreed.
