I welcome the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, Deputy de Valera, and the Minister of State, Deputy Coughlan, and their officials. They are with us today to consider the following Estimates; Vote 41 — the Arts Council; Vote 42 — Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands and Vote 43 — the National Gallery.

The Minister and Minister of State will speak first and we will then have the Opposition spokespersons followed by a general discussion.
