I move amendment No. 19:
In page 25, subsection (1), to delete lines 4 and 5.
This section deals with the right to amend incorrect, incomplete or misleading personal information in the records of public bodies. The right only arises if the information "has been used or is available for use by the body for an administrative purpose". I do not see the purpose of this restriction. If personal information is incomplete, incorrect or misleading it does not matter if it is being used for administrative purposes. Why should someone about whom there is incorrect information get bogged down in proving that it is being used for administrative purposes?
I accept the Deputy's point. I will return to this amendment subject to consultation with the draftsman on a suitable wording.
