Special Committee Fisheries Bill, 1938 díospóireacht -
Tuesday, 13 Jun 1939

SECTION 93.

The McGillycuddy

There is an alteration of the law in this section. Where, in one case, a holder would have four votes up to now in respect of his licences, these are in future to be separated and, if the Minister acquires a several fishery, he will, under these circumstances, have 14 votes. Is that intended?

Dr. Ryan

Yes.

Sections 93 to 102, Schedule and Title agreed to.
Bill to be reported to the Seanad.

Sir John Keane

What is the procedure now? Will this Bill go back to the Seanad with the amendments?

Yes, same as if the Committee Stage were passed in the House.

Sir John Keane

The next stage will be the Report Stage ?

Unless the House recommits the Bill.

Sir John Keane

Can you give any indication as to when the Report Stage will be taken ?

The procedure is that the Bill is reported to the House and the House then fixes the date of the Report Stage.

Sir John Keane

I desire to put in an amendment for Report Stage and I have to get in touch with the owner and with lawyers, as the matter is a complicated one.

Would it be convenient to have the Report Stage to-morrow fortnight ?

I think the House would agree to that.

The Committee rose at 5.45 p.m.
