184 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Health and Children the way in which the treatment purchase fund will manage the waiting list initiative; the extra costs involved in this move; the impact this will have on waiting lists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2026/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraIn light of the commitment given in the health strategy to reform the organisation and management of waiting lists, I have decided to give a significant lead role to the national treatment purchase fund. Having a single funding stream through the NTPF to reduce waiting times for patients will ensure an efficient use of resources and guarantee good value for money from the funding being used. My Department is engaged in discussions with the NTPF with regard to putting in place the necessary arrangements.
