Mitchell asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if a survey of staff to determine interest in participating in the decentralisation programme has been undertaken in her Department; when it will be completed; and if the results will be published or otherwise made available to Deputies. My Department has established a formal project management structure to manage the decentralisation programme within the organisation. The structure will support the two phases of the decentralisation programme i.e. the development of an overall departmental strategy and the development and implementation of plans for decentralising individual sections.
As an input to the planning process, a survey is being conducted to establish initial indicators of interest in the various decentralisation locations. It is expected that the results of this survey will be available in the next few weeks.
