448 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application for naturalisation by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 will be determined; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2940/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for a certificate of naturalisation from the person referred to by the Deputy was received in the citizenship section of my Department on 16 October 2002. The average processing time of applications for naturalisation is approximately 15 to 18 months at the present time. I understand that the processing of the application of the individual concerned is almost finalised and that it should be referred to me for a decision in the near future. As soon as I have reached a decision on the matter, I will inform both the applicant and the Deputy of the outcome.
