Ceist:

200 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the number of ESB grants made under the CLÁR scheme on a county by county basis; if he has satisfied himself that all groups or individuals in need of three-phase power can qualify under the present scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There is no fixed allocation to counties included in the programme for this funding as it is a demand-led measure. However, the success of the measure is reflected in the high level of uptake with 12 businesses availing of the assistance in 2002, 53 in 2003 and seven to date in 2004. It is also reflected in the range of counties involved. I am currently reviewing the conditions of the scheme.
