117 Dr. Fitzpatrick asked the Minister for Education and Science when it is proposed to publish the Grangegorman Development Bill; the purpose of the Bill; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6409/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department is currently engaged in finalising legislation for early publication which will set up an agency with the responsibility of developing a 73 acre site at Grangegorman as a single campus for the Dublin Institute of Technology comprising 65 acres. In addition, the agency will be responsible for the development of the balance of the site to address the interests of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the Northern Area Health Board. The agency will be known as the Grangegorman development agency.
The function of the agency in the initial phase will be to draw up a strategic development plan for the site. The proposed legislation will make provision for comprehensive consultation with all interested parties, including local residents and representatives.
