323 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the name of the person appointed by him to establish a pilot training course with accreditation for phlebotomy; the date when the course is expected to commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7791/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraFunding to support the development of a national training certificate in phlebotomy was provided by my Department to the Eastern Regional Health Authority, ERHA, in November 2002. Responsibility for the appointment of the health care training and development officer and the establishment of the phlebotomy certificate course rests with the ERHA. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive officer of the ERHA to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
