159 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the allegations of Garda harassment of anti-war protesters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8246/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am informed by the Garda authorities that, since February 2003, a number of protesters have been arrested at Shannon Airport for alleged breaches of the Criminal Damage Act, Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act and Air Navigation and Transport Act. I am further informed that some of these protesters have made complaints against members of the Garda Síochána and that these complaints are being dealt with in accordance with established procedures, including referral to the Garda Síochána Complaints Board.
