Freagraí scríofa

Responsibility for the provision of medical cards, is by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the CEO of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.

Responsibility for the provision of medical cards is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. I understand that the Deputy raised this matter previously in a parliamentary question last February and was advised that the CEO of the South Eastern Health Board would investigate the matter raised and reply directly to him. My Department has made further inquiries with the CEO of the board and has been advised that the matter raised is still under investigation.
