525 Mr. O’Connor asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has plans to have local authorities grant waivers for local charges to primary and second level schools; if his attention has been drawn to the importance of that issue to many schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The power to waive a local charge is, under law, a matter for individual local authorities, and my Department is not involved in the administration of waiver schemes.
