A grant of up to 75% of the approved cost, subject to a maximum grant of €2,031, is available from local authorities for the provision or necessary improvement of an individual water supply to a house that cannot be served by a public or group water scheme supply. It is a condition of eligibility that the house has not been constructed within the preceding seven years and that a grant for the erection of the house, or for the provision of a water supply to the house, has not been paid during that period.
