244 Ms Lynch asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the fact that savings can be made in the school transport scheme with regard to the autistic sector of special education; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9584/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraIn view of the rapidly escalating cost of providing the school transport service which has more than doubled since 1997, my Department is in the process of finalising a review designed to identify efficiencies and savings in all sectors which can contribute to a containment of the cost of the school transport service. No decision has been taken regarding the implementation of any specific recommendation in the review.
