357 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if assistance will be given to a seriously ill person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 in their efforts to get a medical card; and if he will make this case a priority issue. [9638/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraResponsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
