390 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will continue to be cared for at Drakeland’s Nursing Home, Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9840/04]

As the Deputy will be aware, the provision of health services in the Kilkenny area is, in the first instance, the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him as a matter of urgency.

391 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging an appointment for a person (details supplied) at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny; if an appointment will be expedited for them with a paediatrician; if there is a waiting list for this service; the steps he is taking to resolve the issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of services at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, is, in the first instance, a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
