144 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will take the necessary measures to deal with the alarming increase in drug pushing in the environs of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sean MacDermott Street, which has become the worst such location in Dublin city; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI am informed by the Garda authorities that local Garda management are aware of the drug problem in the environs of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sean MacDermott Street.
One of the main suppliers has been arrested on two occasions. I understand that he has subsequently fled this jurisdiction. There have been a number of arrests this year leading to seizures and charges. I am assured by the Garda authorities that the area will continue to receive ongoing attention.
