1251 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has received an application from Waterford City Council for an extension of the city boundary into South Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22655/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department has had no communication from Waterford City Council concerning a proposed boundary extension. However, I understand that action is being taken by the city council at local level to initiate the formulation of a boundary proposal. Under the statutory provisions at present in force, any proposed boundary extension would require the approval of the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and it would be inappropriate therefore for me to make any statement in the matter.
