555 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will issue approval to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to proceed with a plan of work for the school as recommended by a feasibility study submitted to his Department; if funding for the necessary remedial works as outlined in a letter to his Department on 15 March 2002 will be granted; if a comprehensive response to the reports and documents sent to his Department will be issued as soon as possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have previously announced my intention to publish, for the first time ever, a multi-annual school building programme.

My officials are nearing completion of a review of all projects in line with the revised prioritisation criteria that resulted from consultation with the partners. The purpose of the review is to enable and inform a multi-annual approach to the school building programme.

I expect to be providing details of this multi-annual programme before the end of the current year.
