1080 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason for the refusal of visas (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21839/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe persons in question made visa applications in January 2004 for the purpose of coming to Ireland for a period of three weeks. The applications were refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicants would observe the conditions of the visa. The applications were not supported by any documentary evidence of how the applicants intended to maintain themselves during their proposed visit. It was also noted that no documentation indicated the legal status of the reference in the State.
It is open to the applicants to appeal against the refusal by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department. Any such appeal should be accompanied by a full copy of the relative's passport along with a full copy of the applicant's passports.
