166 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the action she is proposing to compensate women damaged by a person (details supplied) the vast majority of whose cases are not statute barred. [23063/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraAny person who believes that they have suffered loss or injury as the result of negligence by another person has the right to seek redress through the courts. Any claim for compensation is against the person who has allegedly caused the loss or injury. In the case referred to by the Deputy no claim has been made against either the Minister for Health and Children or my Department. If the statute of limitations has not expired the women concerned can still exercise their rights through the courts.
