Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for capital grant assistance from the 2000-06 equal opportunities child care programme was submitted by this private child care provider to my Department some time ago. The day-to-day administration of the programme is undertaken by Area Development Management Limited, which has been engaged by my Department to carry out thorough assessments against the programme criteria of all applications for grant assistance, on my behalf. I understand that the assessment process can involve lengthy dialogue with the applicant and that in this instance the assessment is almost complete.
On completion of the assessment process, the project will be referred to the programme appraisal committee chaired by my Department which makes a funding recommendation to me before I make a final decision on the matter. In the interim, it would be premature of me to comment further on this capital grant application.
