54 Ms Burton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children , further to the EU Commission statement of 15 July 2004, that it was initiating infringement proceedings against Ireland in regard to the system of reimbursing the cost of medical appliances here, the steps she proposes to take on this matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I have made inquiries in relation to the matter raised by the Deputy and it transpires that the issue is more appropriate for answer by my colleague, the Minister for Social and Family Affairs. Accordingly, I have passed the question to his Department for direct reply.
