93 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Finance if work is proceeding on the proposals relating to the decentralisation of State agencies; and if further assessments have indicated that some of these proposals would be inappropriate. [13288/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere are particular issues that arise in dealing with the State agencies. The correct approach is to tease out the issues and develop good long-term solutions in consultation with all of the parties involved. This is the approach being adopted by the decentralisation implementation group. In its November 2004 report, the decentralisation implementation group listed a total of seven State Agencies which, in the group's view, should receive priority attention in terms of implementing the programme, while still ensuring progress for the remaining organisations. I understand that the group's next report will deal with the locations and organisations not covered in the November 2004 report.
