Ceist:

281 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Transport, further to Question No. 351 of 15 February 2005, if the scheme showing restrictions that were considered for the purpose of air safety at Shannon Airport was proposed by his Department; the lengths of the then proposed extensions to runways 06/24 and 14/32 or 13/31 that were taken into account in the said scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my reply of 9 March 2005 to his previous Question No. 222 in this matter. I understand the scheme referred to by the Deputy, which was prepared in the late 1960s, envisaged restrictions relating to runways 05/23 and 18/36 for the purposes of air safety. The further details requested by the Deputy are now the responsibility of the Dublin Airport Authority, formerly Aer Rianta.
