381 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has given consideration to changing the ward of courtprocedure for families of those suffering from Alzheimer’s to a more simplified procedure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15271/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised that the Courts Service, mindful of the need for a comprehensive reform of the law relating to the protection of intellectually incapacitated individuals, and in the context of a relevant consultation paper published by the Law Reform Commission in 2003, is engaged in a review of the operation of the wardship jurisdiction. I will consider any proposals for changes in legislation within my area of functional responsibility which emanate from the review and from the final report of the Law Reform Commission.
