146 Mr. Allen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if the promised improvements to the Irish Blood Transfusion Service in Cork have been implemented; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20909/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraIn 2004 the Irish Blood Transfusion Service invested over €3 million in an interim accommodation solution for the Cork centre and refurbished the existing premises which has ensured compliance with good manufacturing practice or GPM standards. As the House was informed last April, there is provision in the Department's capital programme to allow for the appointment of a design team and commencement of the planning process for a new Cork centre.
