201 Dr. Cowley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the latest statistics available on funding provided by this Government towards cancer treatment and care here; the regional breakdown of these figures; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20650/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraSince 2002 there has been a cumulative additional investment of approximately €620 million in the development of appropriate diagnostic, treatment and care services for people with cancer. This sum includes the following approximate funding which was made available to the former health authority-boards during the period:

This Government is committed to making the full range of cancer services available and accessible to cancer patients throughout Ireland in accordance with best international practice.
