470 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress which has been made concerning an application by a person (details supplied) in County Offaly to remain in the State on the basis of parentage of an Irish-born child; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for permission to remain in the State on the basis of his parentage of an Irish-born child under the revised arrangements announced by me on 15 January 2005 was received in the IBC Unit on 27 January 2005. The person concerned was granted permission to remain in the State for two years on 22 April 2005. I understand that the person concerned has only recently received notification of this decision by post.
