Breen asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 1306 of 27 September 2006, if her Department has agreed to the retention of special needs assistant support for a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI wish to advise the Deputy that my Department has agreed to the retention of the special needs assistant support for the pupil in question until the 10th November 2006. The school has been advised of the position. My officials are currently liaising with the National Council for Special Education in the context of the pupil's needs.
