Ceist:432 Deputy Ruairí Quinn asked the Minister for Education and Science her views on whether the administrative and management systems of her Department need to be re-examined, if she is unable to indicate the number of science teachers who in addition to a science degree have an educational degree or postgraduate qualifications for post-primary teaching as indicated in Parliamentary Question No. 452 of 4 March 2008 in view of the Government’s commitment to improving science education in post-primary and third level centres of education, the establishment of Science Foundation Ireland and the fact that such post-primary teachers are being paid by her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
