153 Deputy Olivia Mitchell asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the annual subsidy to the National Aquatic Centre in each full year since it reopened; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10358/09]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe subsidy provided to the National Aquatic Centre in 2007 and 2008 was €1.862 million and €1.030 million respectively. As I said in the House on the 3rd March the NSCDA undertook an international benchmarking study comparing the performance of the Centre against other equivalent facilities around the world. The message from this study is that all publicly accessible pools receive direct or indirect subsidies from governments, local authorities, sports councils, universities and other similar organisations.
