Ceisteanna (203)

James Bannon

Ceist:

245 Deputy James Bannon asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Longford, who had a serious car crash resulting in severe brain injury, should have to wait for urgently needed assessment at the National Rehabilitation Hospital due to a shortage of beds in view of the fact that every day’s delay could be detrimental to their care and the best possible outcome which is a cause of anxiety and distress for their family; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy's question relates to service matters I have arranged for the question to be referred to the Health Service Executive for direct reply.
