316 Deputy James Bannon asked the Minister for Transport the reason County Longford was excluded from plans for the 2,000 km national network of cycle paths, which will connect cities and towns across the State (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37383/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraI would refer the Deputy to the Dail Adjournment Debate on this matter on 7 October 2010, and in particular the points that the Network outlines corridors and not routes, the identified corridors are seen as providing a skeleton around which the development of a National Cycle Network should occur, and the potential of cycle routes to increase mobility and accessibility whether within the context of a National Cycle Network or otherwise.
