421 Deputy Jack Wall asked the Minister for Social Protection the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has had their rent supplement cut; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38621/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Service Executive (HSE) has advised that they are currently reviewing the rent supplement entitlement of the person concerned. The HSE will contact the person concerned when the review has been completed.

Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Service Executive (HSE) has advised that the person concerned was refused mortgage interest supplement as his income of €601.50 per week from his widower's contributory pension and income from his share in a bar are sufficient to meet the interest cost of his mortgage. The HSE has further advised that the person concerned was advised of his right to appeal the decision to refuse payment of mortgage interest supplement but that no appeal has been received to date. It remains open for the person concerned to appeal the decision to the HSE Appeals Office.
