Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

26 Deputy Paul Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an operation for the removal of a wisdom tooth cannot be arranged under the National Treatment Purchase Fund in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The National Treatment Purchase Fund arranges treatment, including the removal of wisdom teeth, for patients who have been on a surgical waiting list for more than three months. It is open to the person in question or anyone acting on their behalf to contact the Fund directly in relation to their case.

The management of waiting lists generally is a matter for the HSE and the individual hospitals concerned therefore, I have referred the Deputy's question to the Executive for direct reply.
