416 Deputy Simon Coveney asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will provide mileage payments made annually since 2007 to staff for travel purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3947/11]

417 Deputy Simon Coveney asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if the Ministers of State in his Department have drivers; the salary provided to each driver annually since 2007; the expenses provided to the Ministers of State for use of their car or mileage annually since 2007; the familial relationship between the Minister and the driver if any; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3962/11]

The Minister of State at the Department, Deputy Michael Finneran, has two civilian drivers who work on a week on/week off basis. The first civilian driver was paid salary of €25,170 in 2008, €40,707 in 2009, €38,082 in 2010 and €1,895 to date in 2011. The second civilian driver, a son of Mr. Finneran, was paid salary of €16,471 in 2008, €41,911 in 2009, €37,324 in 2010 and €1,895 to date in 2011. In 2008, a brother and daughter of Mr. Finneran provided relief duties and received salary of €2,605 and €651 respectively.

Payments made to Minister of State Finneran in respect of domestic travel amounted to €26,944 in 2008, €34,708 in 2009, € 24,060 in 2010 and €10,849 to date in 2011.
