36 Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Finance if he will provide figures on household debt as a percentage of household income for the years 2010 and 2011 broken down by quarter. [27662/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraFigures on household debt are taken from the Central Bank's Quarterly Financial Accounts — Table 8.1b — total loans outstanding of households and non-profit institutions serving households. Figures for disposable household income are taken from the quarterly Institutional Sector Accounts produced by the CSO. This represents all income earned by the household in a particular quarter. This is not readily comparable with the level of debt. In order to make these figures more broadly comparable, the quarterly income figures have been annualised.
