636 Deputy Seán Conlan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan has still not recieved a grant under the farm improvement scheme almost one year following their submission; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe person concerned is an applicant under the Farm Improvement Scheme. Following submission of the payment claim and the completion of a pre-payment inspection, a number of issues arose which required the submission of further documentation by the applicant. This documentation has now been received and a further inspection is due to take place in the near future. Payment will issue as soon as it has been found that all the terms and conditions of the Scheme have been complied with.

Amharc ar fhreagraThe persons named were approved for participation in the Agri-Environment Options Scheme with effect from the 1st September 2010.
Under the EU Regulations governing the Scheme and other area-based payment schemes, a comprehensive administrative check, including cross-checks with the Land Parcel Identification System, must be completed before any payment can issue. During these checks a query was identified regarding the traditional hay meadow parcel. This issue has been satisfactorily resolved and payment will shortly issue to the person named.
Payment in respect of the 2011 Scheme year is subject to a similar administrative checking process which includes verification of capital investment through checks on receipts. During these checks queries were identified in relation to the capital expenditure claim of the persons named. My Department has made contact with the persons named regarding these matters and the application will be further processed upon receipt of a response to these queries.
