Amharc ar fhreagraThe National Ambulance Service is developing deployment models that can use a range of available locations, to assist in providing rapid access to patients in emergency situations. The models considered will be based on the evaluation of geographical areas, call volumes, road networks and population density. This approach will allow for the appropriate placement of ambulances to meet the demands placed on the service. Examples, apart from existing ambulance stations, could include emergency dispatch points such as fire stations and HSE facilities. However, this process is at an early stage and no agreements have been reached by the National Ambulance Service with potential providers to date.
