115 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the total number of mobile phone licences allocated in this country in the past 15 years; the process by which all such licences were issued in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The following table outlines the number of licences issued to mobile operators in the last 15 years (included also are details of licences issued in 1996). All of these licences were issued through a comparative evaluation process and the two interim licences are limited extensions to licences previously issued through a comparative evaluation process.
