77 Deputy John Lyons asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform his plans to hire additional staff in the Office of Public Works in the area of heritage services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23430/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Office of Public Works employs 94 permanent guide officers at various visitor attractions throughout the country. The guide service is augmented for the tourist season by the engagement of an additional 320 temporary or seasonal staff. The posts for the 2012 season were advertised in the national press in February. A number of the positions have been filled and further staff will commence work in June.
