188 Deputy Terence Flanagan asked the Minister for Health if discussions have taken place regarding the proposal to relocate Beaumont Hospital to a site in Belcamp; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24452/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraI take it that the Deputy is referring to recent media reports concerning the development of a medical hub including Beaumont Hospital and the national paediatric hospital, at a site in Belcamp, County Dublin. As the Deputy will be aware, I established an independent Review Group to consider the implications of the decision of An Bord Pleanála, received on 23 February 2012, to reject the planning application for the proposed construction of a national paediatric hospital on the site of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital. The Review Group is considering all issues relevant to the location of the new paediatric hospital and I do not wish to make any further comment on the matter until the Group's work is complete.
